Plastin
Plastin
Plastin is a technical modeling paste designed for industrial use only. Unlike regular modeling pastes, it won’t dries out and maintains its elasticity over time.
Plastin is very elastic, which makes it difficult to break and can be clamped to surfaces and removed without leaving a trace.
Plastin is used alongside plastiform products to create custom barriers or hold parts in place when taking impressions. It’s particularly useful for positioning difficult parts or when dealing with components with holes that need to be protected.
It can also prevent fluid plastiforms from leaking out of a controlled area when you try to make partial impressions or total impression of a part with a through hole.
A significant advantage of plastin is that it leaves no residue or oily marks on surfaces after removal. It’s designed for use with plastiforms and does not alter their results.
Since it’s not perishable, it can be used for extended periods without degrading.
The Plastin can and is recommended to be used in every Plastiform applications.
It can also complete protection or reinforcement applications by itself.
Plastiform products doesn’t stick to Plastin, when the impression is fully polymerized, just remove the plastin from it and you can use it again for another impression.
Before using plastin, ensure the surface is clean, even if it’s not directly part of the area being examined. Any residual grease could affect it and compromise the results.
To clean the surface, Plastiform recommends using the degreaser DN1, which is specially validated for impression-taking.
