M80 LP
M80 LP
The M80 Lp was developed to meet the need for long-term polymerization. It takes about 35 minutes to polymerize and have a working time of 7 minutes.
This malleable product can be applied like all other Plastiform malleable products but can be used on a longer period of time. It also takes longer to completely polymerize.
Its final impression is Semi-Rigid, with a hardness of 80 Shore A, making it non-flexible.
This replica cannot be deformed during demolding and does not support any extraction stress. With that in mind, M80 should only be used on simple shapes or for partial impressions.
The extended polymerization time of M80 LP makes it suitable for long applications.
The M80 LP is used for dimensional controls, and specifically for clearance and air gap control on assembled parts. Its capabilities also make it suitable for use in injection molds.
Additionally, this plastiform can temporarily stiffen fragile parts before machining, reducing vibration and resonance phenomena.
You can cut the M80 LP impressions with the Double Blade Cutter to obtain a precise profile of the replica, but it is not recommended with this product.
The M80 LP is suitable for the following applications:
- Dimensional control of simple external shapes: as it doesn’t support any removal constraint, it only fits for simple form.
- Mechanical reinforcement before machining: To reinforce a fragile part or absorbing vibrations.
We recommend applying the paste after mixing and working it manually to achieve a smooth surface. Then, apply this Plastiform evenly over the entire surface.
The M80 LP has an extended polymerization time, so it is important not to touch the impression before the time polymerization time indicated on the technical sheet, as this could affect the results.
The M80 LP impression can be controlled without contact using visual measuring systems such as a Profile projector or any other Optical measuring system.
Being rigid, it can also be checked with traditional contact measuring systems (caliper, 3D measuring machine) if they are designed for soft material, but we always recommend using a visual inspection system.
The use of the Double Blade Cutter is possible but not recommended.
It is a specialized product designed to meet specific needs. We recommend contacting one of our experts if you plan to use it.
