The F50 XL is specifically designed for custom-made protective moulds aimed at replacing masking tapes.
It is one of the most used products for masking and protection applications, known for its extreme resistance and its ease in designing custom coverings for parts undergoing surface treatments.
The moulds made of F50 XL can be reused multiple times, even when protecting a part from highly demanding surface treatments (chemical, thermal, etc.).
In its final state, it is flexible enough to easily insert and remove parts so the operators don’t waste time between batches.
The impression is highly precise with micron accuracy and fits closely to the walls of the part to be protected. This makes the F50 XL perfectly waterproof against any treatment.
Additionally, the product’s impressions always return to their original shapes, allowing them to be reused for multiple machining operations.
The properties of the F50 XL also make it suitable for internal dimensional control, but be careful as it only supports an extraction stress of 5%.
It is the only XL product completely compatible with the Double Blade Cutter, which makes it a good fit for some dimensional control situations.
As a high-volume product, it offers a longer working time of about 10 minutes and a curing time of approximately 25 minutes.

The F50 XL is primarly used for:
- Protection, masking, and sealing: Protect your parts by batch with a custom protective mold against surface treatments.
- Dimensional control: Create large impressions of Simple internal forms and cut them using the Double Blade Cutter.
When using this product in bottle or cans, you have to manually mix both components in a 1:1 ratio. Strictly follow the guidelines in the instructions for use and Technical Sheet available on this page.
Manual mixing requires careful attention to the quantities mixed and the product’s working time.
We recommend pouring the F50 XL slowly, allowing it to flow into every corner while avoiding air bubbles. These instructions also apply to all other high-volume fluid products in the Plastiform range.
As the replica is Semi-Flexible, its dimensions should only be checked with visual measuring machines such as: Profile projectors, Microscopes, Optical Measuring Devices, etc.
